Ka Hikitia Whānau

WHO ARE WE AND WHAT DO WE DO?
The Ka Hikitia group is a collection of passionate and committed members of the Mairehau community. We aim to have a hui at least once a term to discuss what we are doing as a school to achieve our Ka Hikitia vision statement. Our hui provide the opportunity to share new ideas, make connections with each other and of course eat a whole lot of kai! Everyone is always welcome to attend.

OUR VISION
The vision of the Ka Hikitia group is... ‘Māori enjoying and achieving education success as Māori’. This vision means ensuring that all Māori students, their parents and their whānau participate in and contribute to an engaging and enjoyable educational journey that recognises and celebrates their unique identity, language and culture. This journey will support Māori students to achieve the skills, knowledge and qualifications they need to achieve success in te ao Māori, New Zealand and in the wider world.
