Sport is an important aspect of life at Mairehau Primary. All students are actively encouraged to participate in the school’s various sporting opportunities.

The sports on offer are cross country, swimming, touch rugby, athletics, netball, hockey, rugby, football and cricket. In winter we  participate in the Hagley Sport Interschool weekly competition. The season is completed with the North Zone Winter Sports Tournament in August.

At different times during the year other sporting opportunities arise such as golf, volleyball, and korfball. Within each classroom our dedicated and experienced teachers are committed to providing opportunities for every pupil to engage in and enjoy sport and physical education.
